The organization of training is essential for the successful functioning of the entire system of occupational medicine. Occupational health training was identified as a priority goal of the Global Strategy for the Promotion of Workers' Health, adopted by the WHO Collaborating Centers (52 institutes and institutions) at the Second Meeting in Beijing in October 1992 [5], as well as the WHO Global Strategy on health for all in the workplace, approved at the 49th session of the WHO Assembly in May 1996 [12], along with the creation of occupational health and support services capable of effectively addressing modern health issues, the development of standards for occupational medicine based on scientific risk assessments, selection and development of registration and accounting systems, information services, effective means of data transmission and means of attracting public attention to the problems of occupational medicine [5]. Organization of training of specialists in the field of occupational medicine (doctors, nurses, occupational hygienists, specialists in the field of ergonomics, etc.) occupies an important place among the priorities of the European Union in the field of occupational health [18].
the most important modern features of the organization of training in the field of occupational medicine in foreign countries include the following:
1) polydisciplinarity with a predominance of an integrative approach, with the goal of jointly solving problems of medicine and labor safety, increasing the efficiency and well-being of workers;
2) preparation of doctors for the implementation of preventive, curative and rehabilitation functions with the dominance of preventive activities, which serves as the main criterion for assessing the success and effectiveness of work in the field of occupational medicine;
3) a team approach, involving the participation in the implementation of preventive and therapeutic and rehabilitation activities in the field of occupational medicine of a wide range of medical and non-medical professionals (doctors, hygienists, nursing and laboratory personnel, specialists in social work, medical education, physiology, ergonomics, psychology , physiotherapy, occupational therapy, vocational guidance, etc.).
wide involvement of personnel training in the competence of scientific institutes in the field of occupational medicine, which in a number of countries are in varying degrees entrusted with the functions of postgraduate training of specialists of the relevant profile.
