We studied the design features of roller-cone drilling rigs and shearers for rising workings, the conditions, nature and organization of the drivers' labor, the state of the basic physiological functions of the drivers during the shift, assessed the severity and intensity of labor and identified the influence of harmful factors of the working environment on the body.
To study the physiological functions, at the beginning, middle and end of the shift, 6 drivers of SBSH250MN machines were examined (the age of the examined - on average 33.2 years, work experience in the specialty - 7.8 years) for 21 work shifts, 10 machine operators of SBSh320 machines (age drivers - on average: 33.7 years, work experience in the specialty - 7 years) during 21 work shifts, 6 operators of the 2KV combine (age of the surveyed - on average 33.5 years, experience in the specialty - 6 months), 6 operators of the combine 1 КВ 1 (driver's age - on average 38.2 years, work experience in specialty - 4.3 years) during K) work shifts.
The data obtained on the change in the auditory sensitivity of the operators of drilling rigs and combines indicate the need to further reduce the noise levels on these machines to values that characterize the degree of labor intensity [2].
Evaluation of the work of machinists in terms of physical severity and nervous tension in accordance with the accepted criteria made it possible to establish that the work of machinists of all four types of machines in terms of physiological indicators does not exceed the II category of severity and tension. In terms of ergonomics, the work of operators of three types of machine tools belongs to the III category of tension.
The categories of physical severity of the three types of work also do not coincide in terms of ergonomic and physiological indicators. Only for one type of work the categories of severity and intensity of labor coincide according to these criteria.
Thus, the degree of physical severity and nervous tension of the operators' work according to physiological criteria was in most cases one category lower than the degree of severity and nervous tension according to ergonomic criteria.
Research results have shown that it is possible to widely use mining machines that require operator labor. It is necessary to improve the ergonomic parameters of the workplace and lighting on the SBSH250MP machine and to reduce the noise on mining machines operated by operators. It is also advisable to further improve the criteria for assessing the severity and intensity of labor.
