Numerous studies have established that the main factors limiting the efficiency of the operator's work may be monotony, hypokinesia, information overload, lack of time in critical situations that cause hypo- or hyperstimulation of neurohumoral regulation, weak or excessive tension of physiological systems. There is enough evidence that these factors can be one of the reasons for the growth of diseases of the cardiovascular, central nervous systems, and digestive organs. They often cause a decrease in the efficiency of the use of labor resources (staff turnover, early termination of professional activity).

In connection with the widespread introduction of the brigade form of labor organization, the psychophysiological foundations of the formation of the composition of small work collectives acquire great importance. Using the example of teams for the maintenance of power units of modern power plants, it is shown that the teams selected taking into account the criteria of psychophysiological compatibility are distinguished by higher labor productivity, lower morbidity, staff turnover, and violations of labor discipline.

It is obvious that research in this direction should be expanded and carried out by the joint efforts of physiologists, labor psychologists, and clinicians.
