Cutaneous resorption of metal corrosion inhibitors

One of the most reliable, versatile and economically feasible methods of combating corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is the use of inhibitors [1, 3].
As shown by our production and hygienic research, many technological operations for the preservation and re-preservation of products are not mechanized and are carried out manually, which is the reason for the contamination of clothing and open skin surfaces of workers with inhibitors [4].
The most important means of preventing the adverse effect of metal corrosion inhibitors on the skin is to exclude workers' contact with these substances by mechanizing and automating technological processes, as well as providing workers with overalls.
Taking into account the possibility of the effect of inhibitors on the skin, it is necessary to preliminarily examine persons who start working with inhibitors. Persons with allergic diseases, skin diseases accompanied by suppression of the functions of the sebaceous and sweat glands should not be allowed to work with these substances.
To prevent the development of skin changes and identify early symptoms of an adverse effect of inhibitors, a therapist, neuropathologist and dermatologist should be involved in periodic medical examinations.
