Previously, there was a sharp distinction between basic research and applied research. The tendency to smooth out these differences has been increasing in recent years, as it becomes more and more obvious that most of the so-called applied works can be effectively performed only on the basis of the results of fundamental research.

The point of view of fundamental applied research differs from the concept of pure and applied science [2]. This name does not contain any contradiction. It includes both an applied purpose (for example, direct determination of the content of any substances in a particular object) and fundamental research (for example, the establishment of the chemical structure of substances). Such studies are of particular importance in view of the need for environmental monitoring and biological monitoring in connection with the widespread use of pesticides — organic compounds of complex chemical structure. Infrared spectrometry is successfully used to elucidate the specific features of the behavior of a particular chemical compound under various conditions. It is used to establish the nature of fundamental molecular vibrations, which we used in the process of studying the chemical structure and interaction of certain substances.

The use of the method of infrared spectrometry made it possible to detect and establish the features of the chemical structure and interaction of certain chemical compounds, which is the foundation for a deeper and scientifically grounded approach to solving the problems of sanitary and chemical control over the content of harmful substances in various objects.
