Hygienic standardization of metal atmospheric corrosion inhibitors

The specificity of obtaining and, especially, the use of inhibitors of atmospheric corrosion of metals does not always allow, using technological and sanitary-technical measures, to prevent their release into the air of industrial premises. Therefore, limiting the pollution of the breathing zone of workers is one of the main ways to improve working conditions. The criterion for contamination is the maximum permissible concentration of inhibitors, as well as other chemicals.

Conclusions:

  1. Analysis and evaluation of the results of studies performed on the hygienic standardization of inhibitors of atmospheric corrosion of metals indicates that for a more objective, and, therefore, reliable judgment about the degree of toxicity (hazard) of chemicals from new classes of compounds recommended by the Foundation of Inhibitors at the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute for widespread use in industry and agriculture as inhibitors, along with the classification of GOST 12.1.007-76, one should be guided by the classification of S.D. Zagolnikov et al. (1970).
  2. Inhibitors of atmospheric corrosion have a polytropic effect on the body. In their toxicodynamics, there is a violation in the red blood system, in the enzymatic activity of blood serum and redox processes, in the functional state of the central nervous system, some endocrine organs, liver and kidneys. Along with functional shifts in the body of animals, deeper pathological processes develop, manifested by hemodynamic disorders and dystrophy of the cells of the brain and spinal cord, liver, kidneys, and heart muscles.
  3. The earliest, and, therefore, informative diagnostic indicators of the effect of inhibitors on the body turned out to be changes in biochemical reactions - oxygen consumption by cells and tissues, the activity of the most important enzymes of the Kreps cycle - succinic dehydrogenase, the state of carbohydrate-phosphorus and amino acid metabolism, as well as shifts in the morphological composition of red blood - in the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, reticulocytes, hemoglobin, acidic erythrogram, and for methemoglobin-formers - the content of Mesh in erythrocytes.
  4. The following should be used as diagnostic tests for the adverse effect of inhibitors: changes in the activity of ALT, AST, ALP, LDH (exposure test); changes in peripheral blood: acid resistance of erythrocytes (acidic erythrogram), the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, reticulocytes, hemoglobin (integral indicator); accumulation of methemoglobin in erythrocytes under the influence of polymethylene amines (specific indicator); rheography and ECG in combination with the study of indicators to assess the functional state of the cardiovascular system: IOC, heart rate, OPS, orthostatic test, etc. (integral indicators).
