Gas chromatographic determination of trace amounts of pesticides - derivatives of thiocarbamic acid in the air

In agriculture, thiocarbamic acid derivatives vernam (N, N. S-tripropylthiocarbamate), ronite (SN-diethyl-N-cyclohexylthiocarbamate), sutan (S-ethyl-N, N- (diisobutyl) thiocarbamate), tillam (N- butyl-S-propyl-N-ethylthiocarbamate), eptam (N, N-dipropyl-S-ethylthiocarbamate), yalan (N-hexamethylene-S-ethylthiocarbamate) as herbicides against annual weeds in crops of corn, beets (sugar, fodder and canteen), rice (yalan) and other crops. These herbicides belong to medium- and low-toxic compounds, their MPC in the air of the working area ranges from 0.5 (yalan) to 5 (vernam) mg / m3.

The gas chromatographic method for determining microamounts of thiocarbamates is suitable for sanitary and hygienic control over the content of these pesticides in the air of the working area. Methodological guidelines for the determination of residual amounts of thyocarbamates in the air were approved by the Deputy Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the USSR on 06/05/1978, No. 1877 [2].
